Every manager performing work on a project that uses earned value as a linchpin to planning and progress reporting needs to have the performance data organized in a manner that extracts the needed
management information from the mass of generated data. Then that information must be presented in a manner that is at once penetrating in its detail and specific in its purpose. The VitalThought Toolbox Analysis reports do just that.
They are:
Burn Rate Report: Displays 6 months of actuals and 6 months of ETC for any level of the WBS from the control account to the resource department (the lowest level of data within MPM). When viewed on screen,
the manager can interactively drill down through the data to find the drivers behind any actual or ETC number.
Spotlight Report: Displays all current period and cumulative data elements, variance and 14 corresponding performance indices for each control account. When viewed on-screen the manager can interactively drill down
from the control account to the work packages driving the variances.
Schedule, Performance and Analysis Report (SPAR): Displays data element, variances (including labor rate and efficiency variances), and performance indices for
each level of the WBS. When viewed on-screen the manager can interactively drill down to each lower level to find the work packages that are driving a particular variance at a higher level.
